Our promise

Built on real experience.

Homeschool Town is a place for families to share the spots and strategies that actually worked — honestly, locally, in their own words.

Step one

Browse your town

A map of nearby places, filtered by what matters to a homeschool day: quiet, outdoor, multi-age, free, good for mornings.

Step two

Read real experiences

Each place is a short story from a family who went — the back room, the heron rookery, the docent who changed everything.

Step three

Share your own

Write up a place or a guide in your own voice. We ask for one thing: that it reflects your real experience.

Encourage, don't enforce

The internet has enough generic listings and five-star noise. We're after something else: the specific, lived-in detail that only comes from actually showing up. So we build for personality over polish.

We never grade your writing or accuse anyone of anything. When a piece reads thin or generic, a real person gently asks for the human detail that's missing — the moment, the surprise, the thing your neighbor needs to know. That's the whole system: a light touch in service of authenticity.

Local first, always

Homeschool Town is organized around your town, not a nationwide feed. Authors share a city-level home base — never an exact address — so discovery stays personal and privacy stays intact.
